im not up there and not sure but i think timing belt would be coming up ....... might wanna wait for jest or someone to tell u for sure

 

You should start thinking about changing the timing belt, water pump, etc as skibos said. It doesn't need to be changed until 60-70k miles though.

 

How much do timing belts and water pumps usually go for? I considering a 2000 A4 1.8T with 80K.

 

ecs tuning sells an "ultimate tb kit" for about 270 bucks iirc....a euro mechanic will charge you between 500-900 dollars....but make sure you (or the mechanic) changes everything...the ecs kit is pretty complete...except you should also change your snub mount while youre in there (it doesn't take any extra time if youre already doing the tb and it costs 13 bucks at www.greedspeed.com, it will reduce driveline shock and save your motor mounts and tranny mounts...

 

Change the front engine seals at the same time. Only takes 15 more minutes and the seals cost a total of 20 dollars
