Anyone that had a noisy power steering pump?? Especially when its cold, its humming like a buzzbomb. I thought of changing the fluid? will that help or should I go for a new pump?

 

Probably low fluid which probably also means you have a leak somewhere. Mine did that and I topped it off and then it started again a month later so I knew it was a leak. Ended up being just a hose coming out of the resevior. Although, it did cost $65 from the dealership!

 

mine does a rateling noise. I top it off and it continues. I use Universal ATX oil.

 

well, fluid level is fine, and i see no leaks anywhere... would you use mineral or synthetic oil??

 

got the same prob. excpet mine loses power at low rpms.... feels like manual steering

I'm thinkin of just pulling it and runnin full manual steering [8D]

when its cold out mine usualy makes that noise. it also makes that noise when it low i an losing fluid through multiable lines. dont feel like replaceing them so i just keep adding oem fluid when it gets low.

 

you should stick with the audi green mineral for steering.
