Default Power Window Question

I have a 99 A4 which has the auto window function, but I have heard that the windows can also be rolled up or down with the key in the door. Is this true of all A4's or is it only an option?
TIA

The only this that I know of (which not may be all ) is to vag your central locking system to remote roll down/ roll up your windows with your key.

I dont think you put it in the door but hold in the unlock/lock button.

Well, what I am wondering first is; is this an option or does it come standard on every A4 (mine is a '99)? If it is suppose to be there then I know mine isn't working and I need to have it fixed, but if it is only an option then I would have to conclude that I don't have that option. Thanks for the replies so far, can anyone else offer any more insight?

Controlling the windows with the KEY isnt an option. It should work on all cars with central locking. If it doesnt then theres a problem. Controlling the windows witht he REMOTE isnt an option. It was not available in the us ever. However your central locking can be programed to due this. However the dealership wont know how to due this becasue the coding is not avaiable in the us shop manual. If you provide the proper coding any dealer in the us will be able to program it.
