Default problem with flik artics

I jus bought some 18" flik artics for my b5 and they look great...unfortunately at highway speeds they shake i got them ballanced again and it still is an issue anyone have a similar problem or any ideas on what to do?

Do they have awide lip? The problem with balancing wheels with a wide lip is that the lip really throws off the balancing machine and it is hard to get a good balance unless you put a weight on the lip. However noone does that since it makes the wheel look like ***. If you don't have a wide lip it could also be the lack of hubcentric rings which put more stress on the studs and don't hold the wheel entirely flush against the brake rotor causing your car to shake at higher speeds.

^ are you talking about those plastic things that go on the inside of your wheel?

I just got some fliks and love them, already took them on a 90 mile trip the other day and they were great on the highway.

Hub centric Rings

if you need some I have some - the inside of your wheel would have to be 73mm

Itis probably just combo of big wheels, small tires and a semi-bad balancing job. I dealt with it before, it is definitely annoying.

I took it to a better tire place and they provided me with a better balance. It didn't take all the little vibrations away but it cleaned up the ride a lot. I don't think you will ever get a 100% smooth ride since the tires are low profile and the ride is lower but judging by your posts it can get a little smoother.
