Over the last 2 weeks my car (Audi A4, 1.9 TDI, 2000 model) will not accelerate over 80 / 85 mph. The problem is intermittant but has become worse over the last few days. If I am going up an incline then the car will not go over 60mph.

Acceleration itself is much slower than normal even with my foot to the floor!

Does anyone have any ideas of the cause / cure for this before I go to my local Audi service centre.

DUDE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. i think its the turbo . i am goin to check back on this forum to see if any1 knows wut to do.

Agree. although most of us are US based where the Audi TDI is not imported, it sounds like you are not getting boost. the simplest thing to do is check the connections from the turbo to the intake. If you have access to a VAGcom borrow it and look for codes. You can use the Vagcom locator at te top of the forum to try to locte oe near you.
