Problems Removing Radio
So I'm trying to remove my radio head unit but it will not budge. I have all four keys and I insert and pull and it just won't budge. It wiggles a little bit but nothing. The lower left key seems to have broken the mechanism in the radio because now it just slides in and out freely without locking in place. Anyways- any tips would be greatly appreciated I'm afraid any more attempts/frustration and the thing will be permanently broken.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Problems Removing Radio
They stick sometimes. Especially on the b6. Put all four keys in. The grab the radio with your thumb in the tape slot and your fingers on the bottom of the radio. Make a hook out of a coat hanger and use it to pull on the sides and top of the radio. Just stick with it and it will eventually slide out. Just be carefull not to pull the face out. If worst comes to worst pull the glovebox or drivers kick panel and try pushing it out from the rear.

If I were to take one of the side panels off how would I do it?
How would I get the panel off and then how would I remove the radio? I assume the unit would be exposed and I could just push it out...?

RE: Problems Removing Radio
Before taking your car appart... Go to a VW or Audi dealer and KINDLY ask them to slide your radio out with their removal tool. I had the keys with no luck. Went to the dealer and they use a much better tool that gets a better handle on it. They should do it for free. It doesnt hurt to first talk to a sales guy and convince him that youll be back to possibly purchase a car, and you just need a favor for now.
