Default Push Start

So i have been having trouble with my ignition switch since i got it. i have replaced it once and am about to do it again. i was wondering if anyone has done a push start on their a4. if you have let me know how it is and how to do it. i have a wonderful '96 A4. thanks.

they are pretty simple to install.. you can put push start buttons in any car... they will come with instructions.. search.. and search ebay..

You're talking about completely over riding your ignition switch?

I'm sure it could be done, easily, but why would you want to?

I'm wiring my Civic race car right now, sort of like this:

-Switch One - Ignition
-Switch Two - Fuel Pump
-Switch Three - Radiator Fan
-Switch Four - Engine Start

But that's on my race car man, I think it would get old on a daily driver, and kind of pointless.

I buy all of my switches from these guys... They have everything.

If you decide to do this, it shouldn't be tough. Just find a wiring diagram, and you'll be fine.

could be cool, like the a8... pretty simple im sure, iv seen the like buttons that i think your talking about, il see if i can drag them up, they come with wiring and everything

i know it might get old but the problem is that i'm sick of having to replace my ignition switch. so why not do a fairly cool, i think, mod and never have to deal with my ignition going bad again. or at least not have to mess with it for a while. thanks to

Well, if you like the push button thats fine, but I think I would try to figure out why the regular keeps going bad before you just try to bypass it.

If you use a push start you still have to use the ignition key to power all the other things in the vehicle.
