Default quattro

alright...for those of you that live in the los angles area know it was raining like hell this weekend. so i decided to test out the quattro on my 04 b6 so i went out on the freeway, i was doing about 60 and thats kinda fast if u only knew how much water was hittig the freeway and plus i was passing the other drivers i was suprised, my car never hydroplaned or anything, honestly it was like it was stuck to the road. so when i exited i wanted to see if it would peel out and it didnt i was suprised. i think this is the safest car i have ever owned and the quattro system worked great. for those of you tha dont have this option u need to test drive on with it and u will see a difference. it makes me like my car even more.......well thats it i just wanted to share that with you guys lol

Quattro doesn't keep you from hydroplaning. The fact that your car weighs almost as much as a semi truck and decent tires keep you from hydroplaning. The truth is, Quattro, and any AWD system doesn't make the car safer, it just gives you more traction to go in a straight line, and it can help you turn if you know how to drive with it. The added weight is more of a liability under braking than an aid.

It's nice to hear that you were passing cars in the rain, but don't give credit where it's not due. Now, if you plowed out of your driveway through 14 inches of unplowed snow, then you can thank your drivetrain.

Nah, you should have faith in your car, but don't let it make you over-confident. People who believe that active safety features (ABS, AWD, TCS and stability management) will prevent them from getting into trouble when they don't practice safe driving wind up getting killed when they systems can't cope. As safe as a car may be, it's only as safe as it's driver.

yah i agree it does depend on the driver. the only reason why i was able to get an audi was because i creashed my honda civic which i onkly had for like 6 months it was all hooked up and eveything. but going from an civic to an audi feels alot safer to me.

Oh hell yes. When you sit in the Audi and close the door, you realize that the door weighs as much as that Civic's engine did. You feel it in the steering and brakes, you know that the car is solid all around you. Same thing with my Miata. Hell of a fun car, but it feels like it was made of Tinker Toys and Elmers glue in comparison.

but i can say the only thing i hate about my car is that it dosent have that get up and go feeling. if u floor it, it take its sweet *** time to get to a certain speed like when i raced my friend. she has a 07 camery and i was like iam gona beat you cuz i have more horse power and i have a turbo in my car so to make a long story short i lost. mabey its cuz my car weighs more than hers... i duh no but i hate loosing

You could always take up bank robbery*. Only 50% of bank robbers ever get caught, and then they only ever manage to recover 30% of the money. And if you were test driving an RS4 or RS6 for it, you have a sweet getaway car already! Although, I think that the S8 balances speed, sophistication, and badassery for that sort of thing, and you could carry a couple of your buddies around in comfort and style, too!

*note: CLX does not condone bank robbery, no matter how cool the getaway would be!
