Default question about sway bars

Hello all,

I installed H-Sports sway bars not too long ago. The front H-Sports sway bar is much thicker and bigger than my original non-sports bar. Because of that matter, the sway bar is actually sticking out a bit by both driver and passanger side cornors so I need to cut the cornors of skid plate in order to put it on.

Here is the problem, I hit something this morning (because the car was lowered). I checked under the car it seems whatever the thing hit the car actually hit the part of the sway bar sticking out. It caused about 0.75 inch scratch. Although the scratch is not too deep but you definitely can feel it with finger tips.

Should I worry the bar been rusted and eventually break (or snap) in the future? Thanks for your input.

I highly doubt it. i believ they are made of stainless steel. and the cut, even if it did rust, it would not rust enough to do any structural damage. and iom pretty sure its stainless..so that doesnt really rust anyway. you should be jsut fine. people scratch the sh*t out of their cars, the frames and such everyday, and most peoples cars dont fall in half afer a good rain.

if your worried, just paint it with some rust-o-leum..

you could even go as far as putting some weld in there... but you defanatly dont need to...
