Quick question about H/U upgrade

I got 7" touch screen, frame and connectors from Metra. All seems right and hooked up good, but A/M H/U looks like aint getting any power, so i hooked up my stock H/U just to power and it doesnt work either, so i thought i f'ed up at that point. I hook my stock h/u back withall plugs and wires(antena + something else i dont know what) and it turns on like nothing happend, not even in the SAFE mode. I tried again with a/f h/u and nothing again.Am i missing something, or how the hell i hook up power to a/f h/u?

P.S.: i did research here, on AZ techaudio, some avic forum, and audidiy.com. Still lost.

Any inputswould be appreciated,
Thanks

Sounds like a ground problem to me. Try attaching another ground to an actual part of the metal body of the car.

sounds like you blew the fuse. easiest fix and the last place usually checked.

sorry forgat to mention, i check fuse on the h/u its good, also it has some kinda fuse on the powerwire and it seems fine too. Im really lost why my stock radio wont work unless i plug EVERYTHING back in, its like power and ground coming from different plugs or some kinda safety device i guess

RE: Quick question about H/U upgrade

Problem found, audi's stock REM line was giving out only 10V apperantly not enough for my new h/u, once i pluged all + from a/f h/u to power it worked, too bad it'll be without REM line.
