I finally got the audi's serial #, but I don't have the code.

Does anyone have some kind of generator? That would be great.

The serial no. is 33986.

 

what you need it the number that starts with AUZ and the VIN, unless there is a way you guys get it without a scan tool and geko code

 

type/name of radio/system they require a 10 digit code some times part of the chassis number or vin number are required, the dealer might give you it free phone them

Call the original selling dealer they might have the code on record.. Thats what i did. If you call audi of america and give them your VIN # they should be able to tell you which dealer it was. Thats what worked for me.

 

It's not on the sticker in your trunk? I found out a lot of info about my car through there.

 

Don't you have the manuals that come with the car? There is one small manual that pertains specifically to the radio. It has a tear off card in it that has this code.

 

I have a similer problem with a twist. Bought a unit off of ebay to replace my original symphony II because I wanted to add the sat capability throught the HU. Since I won't have the VIN # am I screwed or can I use the serial # from the HU and get the code from audi. Got a deal on the HU so if it doesn't work out I will put it back on ebay.

He has been hit and miss. Bought it on ebay for a pretty good deal. He said the system was not locked, but once you pull it out I would think that it would go into safe mode. I am also going round with whether or not the system he sold me is SAT or not. He says no but the image of the unit posted has the SAT button above the tape button. I will be extreamly pissed if the unit comes and it is different from the one he posted.

I am wondering if he just doesn't know that it was sat capable. He said he was replaced the unit with the RNS-E Navigation. So if it is an issue I am sure I could talk him out of the VIN to get the number.

Would like to know if Audi Dealership would give me the code based off the serial #.
