Rattling when engine winds down.. HELP!!!
I'm gonna post a audio recording of the engine, what's a good site to do that so you guys can listen to it and get a better understanding of what might be the problem..

Yeah, if your heat shield isn't the problem you'll need to get a new converter welded on. You can let it be, but I wouldn't advise that. It is possible that pieces of the honeycomb MIGHT get into the combustion chamber and thats bad. I've been running with it for about 2,000 miles. That having been said I'm fixing it next week.

What? How would part of the honeycomb get into the motor? The engine isn't exactly sucking in the exhaust.

fellas I need to post a rcording of my engine noise, what site would you recommend.... I need help fast, someone needs to tell me why my engine would sound like this so that the dealer can't screw around with me..
The EGR doesn't pull exhaust gas from anywhere near the CAT. The only things between the cat and the tailpipe is the rear O2 sensor, mid and rear muffler and about 8 feet of pipe. There is no place for the cat material to go but out the tailpipe.

Yes and no. Now on cars without an EGR system there's little to NO chance of it happening. With an EGR system though there is a slight possibility that the recirculating exhaust might throw a piece back into the intake.

I totally agree there and no offence to any one who answered
I would be looking for something loose like the heat shields/ exhaust brackets even the baffles in the rear silencer/back box
