Default removing the steering wheel

im going to be taking the wheel off to replace the light switch and my concern was setting off the airbag. should i remove the fuse or anything else to avoid a costly mistake and does anybody have any tips for getting it off. Im assuming its a easy thing to do but i could be wrong and advice or pointers would be a great help.. thanks

Make sure that the battery is disconnected and that you wait 30 minutes. Some cars, have capacitors which hold a charge for a while. If you do disconnect the battery, make sure you have your radio code.

All good advise. The grounding is used to remove static electircity. One other thing, make sure you have the key off and battery disconnected during reassembly. Then connect the battery. The sit in the pass seat and turn the key on. That way your out of the "blast radius". Dont be afraid of it thou. Accidental airbag deployments are extreamly rare. Personally ive never disconnected a battery to replace an airbag and have never had any problems. Just use all the precautions and youll be fine.
