Reving the A4?

When I had my A4 out the other day, after I though I had all the problems fixed, it seemed to rev up really slow and same with the revs coming back down. I'd rev it to like 5 maybe and it seemed like it took forever to get there and come all the way back to normal idle.

Is this normal for the A4. It's B6 1.8T.

While driving or while in neutral?

What was wrong before that you fixed?

Try to give some more detail and we'll try to help.

In neutral. No dmg to the engine. Just some front end dmg like rad support, rad, fan shroud, ac condensor. Nothing internal to engine or anything. 5spd also.

When the fan or ac is going it puts lag on the engine and will do exactly what you are saying is happening. Especially in hot weather since your fan will be coming on a lot.

Had a similar problem, cept i had a clogged EGR and cat... Cleaning out EGR helped both ways, revving up and coming down... headerback should get the car to normal.. better than normal...
