*i apologize in advance for the length of this post*
my 01 A4 1.8Q tip is in the shop as we speak. they're telling me i need a new maf, new dv, and some other maintenance stuff done like tie rod and brakes. (my front left wheel is making a clunking sound). i bought the car used and i purchased the extended warranty throught the dealership, but have to get it serviced through audi still. lets not get me started on how pissed off i am at the place i bought my car. but anyways, im waiting on the call on whats gonna be covered and whats not. this is the only audi dealership in manitoba (canada) i cant remember what they quoted me on all my sh*t but for a new maf and dv what should it roughly cost? any help would be much appreciated as for i am new to the audi scene. thanks in advance. and if there is anyone in manitoba who know somewhere better to get audis serviced please let me know!!!

 

well that depends on what is going on exactly.. did you purchase the warranty from the dealership you bought it from.. or did you get the remainder of the factory warranty? Some of these things you could possibly do yourself.. a new DV is fairly cheap

 

factory warranty is done. 94000kms now. the warranty was purchased through a dealership, not audi. they have to authorize the repairs before any are done. thats the limbo im in right now, no car, waiting to see whats covered and whats not. do u know if theres anyone here from canada? hopefully manitoba?

Sounds like they are preparing to bend you over.

 

well.. I think that any private dealership that doesnt hava a repair facility on hand is going to do the same things, authorize repairs.. just to cover their own asses.. if you step back and think about it.. that way they are like yeah its broke go ahead and fix it.. might add a little wait time on to the garage time.. but at least its not coming out of pocket (fingers crossed)

had the maf replaced on my 2000 A4 1.8T Q Tip... set me back $110 CDN... charged me the minimal 1/2 hr labour of $49 CDN

the cel lit up and my car has 94000kms on it. was not audi certified (am kicking myself now for not spending the extra few grand to get one) im really new to this car, to a new car in general. but ever since ive had this car its just been headaches...goes to show what jumping into a purchase can do to you...anyway...im hopefully going to get some good news tomorrow...should i get the dv from the dealer or buy one from a speed shop and put it in myself? and question, is the bailieys worth the money...im totally running stock right now...not planning on getting a chip til the warranty runs out in feb 2007.

a shop here quoted me 100 for one...cant remember the name and 140 for a turbo xs one? any feedback would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

 

so you bought the car from a used car dealership and also bought the aftermarket extended warrenty with it sounds like well sorry to tell you this but the aftermarket warrenty's are garbage they cover nothing I really don't know how they are still around and how they get away with it but I have seen this many times before
