Anyone-
I want to install sat radio in my 2005 A4 (B6). The dealer gave me a chuckle when I asked the service guy, just for the heck of it, how much it was for them to install it. $610.....HAHAHA. I all but laughed in his face...considering its all prewired and what not.

I know i want Sirius but not sure what works with my car. I read on some posts that the radio text doesn't scroll using the SAT when you use the stock radio? If that's the case, does anyone recommend just getting the car receiver instead of the full monty install.

Can you use the existing antenna on the roof for the car receiver instead of putting another one in the truck?

Yeah the Song text doesn't scroll. It's really not a big deal, well to me anyway. It sure beats having a stand alone reciever cluttering up your dash.

Thanks for the info!!! I'm gonna check it out tonite. I agree, I'd rather deal with the scroll than have another device (+ipod +cell) crowdin' the already cramped area around the gear shift!

Anyone know if/where you can get a sharkfin antenna? I'm going to get Sat in the car soon, but right now I have a GPS unit I would like to run an external antenna for. Hoping to somehow fit the GPS antenna inside the sharkfin, so that when I do get Sat, I'll just need to plug it in and go.

Umm the sharefin requires drilling a hole in your roof afiak.

cell phone antenna, but it's not used. Some yank it and replace it with a radio antenna, some put a plug there, to clean up the look. Some put fake sharkfins there, and that might work for GPS, but will be a PITA when it comes time for SAT.

 

I have the OEM factory receiver made by Delphi.How do I install it in a 2004 A4 Quattro 3.0 cabriolet? It doesn't install in the same place in the sedan.The symphony 2 is SAT ready.Thanks ahead of time. SERO
