Default SCAN TOOL

I was gonna invest in a scan tool since my dam car seems to be throwing codes like a mug. anyway, is there any specific brand tool that is reasonably priced which would be better than any others. i saw this one on ebay...it should be fine right?

Ya that would work for the basic stuff, but your best bet would be to get a VAG COM yes its about 250 i think but its well worth the investment

basic like getting a code for an airbag or abs light. cause i took my car and scanned it at autozone with their generic tool for all makes, and it wouldnt pull any codes for those problems despite it working in the past for other things. could this be because my check engine light is not on too? if so, would this tool be any better? (cause taking it to autozone-that $hit's free!)

That eBay one wouldn’t be much better than the auto zone one I have one very similar to the one on eBay and its still very vague on what the problem is and it wouldn’t pick up my check engine light or my airbag light... I ordered a Vag com and it’s so much nicer than the other one it’s not even funny. It will do just about anything to the cars computer system that you want. But if you really want just the basic that eBay one would work on some things but not all. As I said mine didn’t pick up anything compared to the vagcom.
