how bad are they? do u see a white layer showing up? usually scratches can be buffed out if they're not too deep

I was able to get rid of some pretty heinous scratches by wet sanding then using Meguiar's Scratch X and then waxing.

If you drag your fingernail sideways across the scratch and it catches-you are very unlikely to buff or sand it out without getting below the clearcoat layer. It is some times practical to take clearcoat on a small tip artists brush and place a fine line of clear in the scratch and then wet sand on a block with say 1500/2000 grit and buff out the repair.Another route is to have a professional spray it and buff it out...

my "former" mechanic put a nice deep scratch on my fender with his belt buckle... since i work for enterprise, all of our body shops do buffing for free... it was deep, but he wet sanded it and buffed it right out!
