I have a quick Question. When I start my engine where it normally displays the milege there is a service reminder for INSP Iwas just curious if anyone had any idea of what this could be for. any help would be awesome!

 

I think it means inspection... Have you just passed a service number on the ODO? 10,000, 20,000 30,000 etc etc? Just get hooked up to a computer at the shop or you can by your own if you have a laptop. Go to obdtool.com and by the VAG COM cable & then by the software from Rosstech @ ross-tech.com it'll tell you exactly whats going on. Might mean you need to get something checked as it isn't operating properly.

 

thanks, I was just curious if any one knew what exactly it was. My brother owns a '96 A4 and said that when his did it the letters were INSB or something and that it meant that a part was going out. I just didn't want to take it in but, if there is no other way then I guess I will be taking it in.

thanks red, I thought that I searched it but I guess not well enough. I was not so concerned how to reset it, what INSP actually means. like would there be a way to tell which serice I needed with out a VAG. but at least now I know how to make it go away.

 

your inspection is over due or is coming up. same thing happened to me and i looked in the manuel
