tiptronic/auto problem but could still need a fluid and filter change or at least have the transmission tested for fault codes

There is no way of measuring the fluid without a vagcom to my knowledge its more of a shop job. Replacing the fluid should resolve your isssue. It helped my automatic.

it is an auto but here's the thing...Today I tryed using the "manual" 4-speed shifting in my car and it was a lot better than keeping the car in *drive*...now what does this mean?
it means you should buy a 5spd... lol

Its really hard to say without actualy driving your car myself, because what is strange to you might be normal to others and visea versa.

I'm impressed the thread lasted thing long before someone started hatin' on the tiptronics Keep your head up man!

Get it scanned, and put some new fluid in that bad boy....and keep your fingers crossed, 'cause our trannys are expensive as bawls to fix when they explode.

Vag-com is software that allows you to read different control modules to search for fault codes while also allowing the user to log different sensor readings (i.e. timing, a/f ratio, o2 sensor readings). I have used the software before and it is worth every penny. you are able to download a limited version from the Ross-tech site and you can buy a cable from ebay for cheap.
