Default Ship a car

Hey guys, a teammate of mine wants to know how much it would cost, roughly, to ship his car from Italy to the US. Also, how might he do that, Thanks

Most likely they ship it by truck, nah im just messin around. Probablly boat, planes are most likely out of the question. Simply because one, it would probablly cost alot alot alot of money and i've never heard of it being done by private companies, granted im in the aviation industry. Well id have to say over a grand maybe even two. To ship my car from texas to florida would have been 600, which was the cheapest and 900 was the most expensive quote i got. Thats by truck and not in a tractor trailor, an open bedded truck. You can get in a enclosed area which is alot more money and in won't have the high risk of being scratched, unlike the open bedded trucks.

How does he plan to bring the car into the US? I thought there were laws prohibiting bring non-US spec cars here.

as long as it passes an inspection (emissions and such) you can, otherwise you have to go through a legalization process...

I have always thought what shon thought. People bring cars into the US but it does have to pass all emissions tests. Thanks guys, I'm going to get a quote from them.

In addition to emmisions, an imported vehicle must meet all US DoT certifications. Such as front end collisions etc.
