Mothers makes a fine polishing compound as well as many other brands of you go to a paint supply store, it should work well, but be sure to sand it with really fine grit paper, id go higher than 1500 that’s pretty coarse for that smooth look, id go with like 3000, that’s what I use when I am doing a base coat clear coat job on a car and it looks really really good

You have to wet sand it. I would never do a diy like that on a brand new car.

 

That's exactly what i was going to say...Wet sand it with 2000 grit and put on the next coat.

if you want it too look like mine... i sanded them befor i put on any paint at all... so if you want to get rid of all the letters and numbers and stuff.. pull them off and sand the whole tail light with 150 grit sand paper then go with 250 grit after that and then wet sand the whole thing one last time with like 1000 grit is what i used and then paint all you want... thats just what i did... i used two coats of black and one coat of clear...

any time... o and the great thing about it is it only took me like 45min and i love them... they turned out great!

Here it is.... Looks much better I think, and now when I look at an 06 civic on the road, ill feel better knowing the civic *** doesnt look even similar to Grey I....
