So could it be a vacuum leak? Cruise control not working.

So could it be a vacuum leak? Cruise control not working.
So, my cruise control switch started working today (weird). But what is even weirder is that when I set the speed, it maintains it for maybe 4 seconds and then completely cuts out. I can turn the control off and then back on, set the speed again, and the same exact thing happens!
Now is this a problem with the switch or could it be something else such as a vacuum leak of some sort. When it is maintaining speed for those few seconds it feels very strong so I can't believe it would be a vacuum leak. Could there be something wrong in the computer?
I have a 1999.5 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T with 102,000 miles on it, AEB engine code (is the CC even vacuum controlled on the AEB engine, or is it just the drive-by-wire models?).
Thanks for any input,
Brian

its the switch. get an electrical contact cleaner and squirt it all over the switch, this might fix ur prob. if not ull need a new stalk.
