Default something i can't explain

Hello,

I would class my self as a complete novice and dont know alot about turbos, chips and k&n's.

but my audi a4 1.8T has those. Now what happens is, when i accelerate to the max and try and reach the top speed. It kinds of starts to steady off at 110mph. at this point engine is revving high in 5th gear. Now i let go of the accelerator abit and press it again so i drop a 1000 revs and start to climb again this time round i can feel the car gets an extra boost and now it starts to reach 130-140mph.

would any one know why this happens.

is it because of the chip, or perhaps the k&n?

Thanks

Not gear hunting. Your little turbo is crapping out at such high sustained rpms/boost... When you let off the gas you are giving it a short break to regain momentum and cool off slightly. So when you get back on the gas at 1000 rpms lower-where the turbo is more efficient, you feel a difference. The lil k03 turbo gets exhausted when you are holding wot at5k-6k rpms for long. So its normal.

His clutch is slipping, but it only happens at 110mph (Awesome response)

Gear hunting on a manual at 110 (Awesome response) - and yes you could assume it was a Manual because how are you gonna make your RPM's drop back down at 110 mph without a clutch...

Sigh.

Thank god for onepoint8t
