speaker problem on A4

whats up guys
i have a 96 A4 i recently replaced deck + 2front + 2rear speakers myself. Everything is working perfect except for the driver side door tweeter. When i was installing that side speaker there were two extra wires (other than the + and -) that were connected to the stock speaker.(The driver side had these two extra wires and the passenger side did not). I wasnt sure if that connected to the tweeter or what so i just left em hanging. Well now i just realized the tweeter wasn't working and i wasnt sure what the problem was. Whether these two wires need to be connected somewhere or what, there is no other space on the new speaker to connect them. Do i have to wire them into the + and - slots?? please help!
