I'm sure this is somewhere in a post...somewhere...but I suck at searching. What's the speed limited to in a B5 A4 30v with the tip? And what can it get up to chipped without the limiter? I've gone 120mph and it was still going good, but those taillights started to come up fast, so I decided to slow down...a lot...

 

yea the limiter on most chips are around the 140-145 range

 

im pretty sure stock is 135mph but it feels like you can still go faster

 

Mine came with "H" speed rated tires and is limited to 130mph.

 

...once my car gets new shoes, I'm gonna have to top her out...stupid fronts are worn...oh well, it's just money, I can always make more. Thanks for the info, won't be the fastest I've been in a car, but will only be 8mph off if it does top out at 130...

How do you determine what speed your tires are rated for? I got my '03 A4 1.8T up to 110 and it felt a little loose. I decided to slow it down. I don't want a blowout at a speed like that.... that would definately suck.

 

it should say it on your tire. on it you should see a number like 225/40SR16. that letter where the S is is the key.

M= 81mph
N= 87mph
P= 93mph
Q=99mph
R=106mph
S=112mph
T=118mph
U=124mph
H=130mph
V=149mph
W=168mph
Y=186mph
Z= excess of 149mph

 

yeah it's limited to 130. the manual says is so. and my tires are z rated :]
