Speeding Ticket
Last night I got a speeding ticket for going 38 in a 25 which is 13mph over the speed limit. On the ticket the cop marked the wrong box and checked off 15-19mph over the speed limit instead of 10-14mph but he wrote 38 in a 25. Is there a way I can fight the ticket since he filled it out wrong? Secondly my valentine1 did not go off and he said he got me with radar while he was on the opposite side of the road passing me. **sorry the the incorrect info before i just re-read the ticket
He may have marked down what your actual speed was in the check box but cut you some slack in the speed description. The most I would say you should do is make sure you are charged for the lesser infraction. If you fight the entire ticket and lose, you will almost certainly get hit for the greater charge. Just a thought. I doubt a judge is going to want to let you out of a ticket all together based on a discrepancyof how much you were speeding. Cheers.
Get a lawyer, they will get you out of ticket. They can fight that discrepency and say it is not a fair ticket because you do not know which one is correct. Talk to a laywer, they will tell you.
innocent till proven guilty, cant be guilty if you are seen as doing 38 and also as doing 40+

He wasnt charged with murder, traffic isinnocent until proven guilty but it requires much less probable cause/evidence . Some judges will let you off and say the ticket is an improper charging document, some judges will ammend the ticket to fix it. As always with traffic court it's a crap shoot, you may get lucky and walk out with nothing, you may get the full fine.Lawyering up for a speeding ticket is the dumbest thing you can do, if you really like wasting money go ahead. In this county if the ticket was ammended and stood as is you would likely get your points reduced to 1 and have your fine deducted to 90 dollars dependant upon your driving record. Is that reallty worth the hundreds of dollars a lawyer would charge you?
Plea not guilty. Call the court and attend a traffic court session
a few weeks before your trial. See how other cases go.
Many courts will offer you a plea bargain of a parking ticket
with no points.
