Springs & Sportshocks(sports suspension)
Ok, I am about to change my control arms within the next 2-months.
Can I get... Springs & use my Sport Shocks? Or will it not feel correct? I am asking because I really dont wanna fork out 500 bucks for Bilstiens. Right now the ride is nice & smooth.
Input would be nice.
Also, whats the lifetime on Control Arms? How often do we change them how long do they usally last.

1) Springs will work on sport struts, but will go out at one point.. the struts will go out w/ normal springs anyway.. so do it.. and if they go out replace them...
2) Control arms can last 80k, or they can last 40k.. kind of depends... when you upgrade to the heavy duty meyele you shouldn have to change them for a while.

Stock shocks are pretty poor dampers to begin with, we've consistently seen them wear out around 50-60k miles. If you've got a lot more miles than that, it's a perfect time to replace them.

yea but if you do anything suspension check the tierod ends and make sure they are not worn.
if you have around 80k miles you might need to replace the ends at least cause that will decrease your handling
and they are not expensive at all.

if you are planning on doing conrtrol arms, id hold off on the tie rods, you get a better overall price when you buy the whole control arm kit that comes with the tie rods. Ya your struts will die fairly soon after you install springs, especially if they lower you over an inch. At 124k miles i wouldnt be surprised if they are already shot. Struts dont normaly last more than 100k miles in any car.
