I hear ya dude, my brakes are spueaking too. I had new front pads and rotors put on about 5k ago (including a trip to Watkins Glen) and they've recently started squeaking. It's intermittent, some days are worse than others. It almost seemed to coincide with the weather getting colder (down to about 30 degrees at night).

Checking the grease on the shim is a good idea, I'll give it another look.

And the stealership put on my new pads and rotors free, it was covered under the warrenty (still within the first 4 years). A pad had become detached from the plate and was rubbing like a bastard, and somehow did enough damage to rotor that they included them.
