Squeeks are usually the lower control arms. Spray some lube on the joints to see if the noise changes or goes away. If it does you have your culprit. Otherwise you may have to look elsewhere.

anything rubber will make that noise spray all components with silicon lubricant and see how it goes, the upper shock bearing above the spring is a favourite

Could be tie rod ends also, not likely, but it could be.

There are 4 control arms per side on the front suspension. If the sound is like rubbing 2 balloons together (annoying squake sound) then it is probably the control arms... thats what is was on mine. Try jacking up the car and lowering it slowly, if it squeakes, then locate where the sound is coming from, that is your control arm that needs to be replaced. What causes the squeaking is the bushing in the arm, they dry out and crap out. zLube usually wont do the job, replace it. 1 control arm will be under $100 and it is an easy replacement.

Squeaky control arms on 00 TT replaced

I had loud squeaky sounds on my TT that got progressively with time. My mechanic said it was due to old control arms in the front which seemed to get rid of most of the problem, but there was still a slight squeaky sound that remained even after the replacement. Both front arms cost $600 total parts/labor. It's been a year and now there's a sound developing from the rear of my car. It squeaks when the car is idle if i push down on it.

Wondering, could this be another control arm issue? possibly shocks? Also, could bad placement of a mechanic's hydraulic lift pads under my car contribute to damage on the rear control arms?

thx,
