RE: stereo
its actually a 6.5 speaker... i know cus i had to do that as well.. do u have the bose system.. or the audi system.. if its audi... i dont suggest it unless u dont mind a little less volume (the radio works kinda crappily with other speakers if there is no goooood amp).... if its the bose.... make sure u get 2 ohm speakrs (i made the mistake of 4).

ORIGINAL: phroztbyt3 its actually a 6.5 speaker... i know cus i had to do that as well.. do u have the bose system.. or the audi system.. if its audi... i dont suggest it unless u dont mind a little less volume (the radio works kinda crappily with other speakers if there is no goooood amp).... if its the bose.... make sure u get 2 ohm speakrs (i made the mistake of 4). From most literature I've seen on this, it's actually a 5 1/4"...and no one really makes a 2ohm replacement speaker, so to replace the speakers in the Bose systems the correct way, you should replace the head unit and the amp and run everything at 4ohms. |
RE: stereo
Yep yep, front speakers are 5 1/4, and they can be a tight fit... stockers are 4" I think. Rears are 6.5's.
Honestly though, ESPECIALLY if you have bose, you don't need to upgrade speakers, just amplify them, and they'll own. I mean REALLY amplify them.. opposed to the stock factory amp which is a joke. A JL 300/4 is what I'd do, or a JL 450/4 if you've got the cake! The 450/4 is my next and final stereo mod. |
RE: stereo
i dont have the bose system, i have amps already from my previous car but the audi's front componets are blown so i have to replace them. but the fronts are 5 and 1/4?
