Stiff shifting 6-speed B6
When I start out in the morning my 03' A4 is very stiff to shift into 1st gear. I bought the car back in December and have put about 10k on it so far and it shifts fine once the car warms up, but I hate the cold shifting into 1st. Anyone else having this problem?

i have an '02... sometimes i get the same thing, i let it run at idle until it goes down to about 900rpm and then it feels easier... but my other gears feel easier to shift into when its cold, feels smoother

Yes, when its below freezing out, the shifts are gonna be a lot stiffer and it might even knock into first gear... Thats a normal thing, you just gotta drive it out for 3-5 minuets and it should go back to normal.. I know what you mean man, it feels like sh*t. It has to do with the metal or whatever the pole for the shifter is made out of, is very cold and feels heavy like a hard block of ice when it rams into first gear. Thats normal as far as I know, just drive it out and be on your way

RE: Stiff shifting 6-speed B6
Do all 2003 A4's come with Standard 6-speed?
I was under the impression that 6-speed manual tranny was 2004 and up?
And since we are on the topic....has anyone had any first-hand experience with 5-speed vs. 6-speed on the A4.....say 2002 vs. 2004 model?
P.S. Sorry if i am hijacking thread a bit
