Ok,I got some mass air flow sensor cleaner and will try it tomorrow. How can I check the vaccum lines? (don't know the car very well what should I look for)?

Remove the plastic engine shield by turning the plastic fastener that hold it on and just do a visual check. The lines tend to break at their connections. Make sure nothing is loose. A tiny nick in a line will set that code. By the sound if it form you clearing the code and it comes right back if there is a broken line somewhere it should be easy to find. I am not saying its not a MAF or something else I just think you should do the easy and less expensive options first.

The weird thing is that when I cleared the code it didn't show up for quite a while (two weeks at least). So it does not come right back up. I will check the vacuum lines and then clean the MAF.

check your fuel filter too. might not be getting enough gas to the injectors. that would make it run lean. but either way, this is a problem you want to fix NOW. running lean is not good.

When it was my one of my vacuum tubes, before I knew it was that I cleared the codes and it took a little while for the cel to come back on. I found what tube it was by hearing the leak and looking for where the sound was coming from.

Replaced a couple of rotten hoses and cleared the CEL. No problems so far.
