Default Temperature decrease

When I drive on the highway, I notice the temperature gauge drops to about 1/4. Is this normal?

Your coolant temp gauge or your oil temp gauge?
If coolant, it should be right in the middle when warmed up.
Oil temp should be 250ishat most in summer and 200-225 in winter, and will take longer to warm up.

Yeah my temp gauge, but for some reason it cools down on the highway. When in traffic it goes back up to 1/2. Could it be becaue of the oil im using? or the oil cooler?

What oil are you running? And I don't think oil can affect your coolant temp... actually it might, would it get hotter if the oil was not lubricating well enough or if the oil is cooler than normal it will decrease engine temps? I could see that helping with that. What are your oil temps? I'm not sure about this.

Why would it be the oil or the oil cooler?
Its probably a bad thermostat or an air bubble in the system. Has your coolant ever been changed? What color is it?
