Default TEST PIPE

Well i got around to put the test pipe in and man what a difference. I have a labree test pipe and it was fairly easy to install, i ran into problems and had to make a few runs to auto zone a few times but overall it took me 6hrs including my trips to the store. I got spark plug non fowlers but i did not put them in, they are suppose to bring the O2 sensor out of the pipe to prevent a CEL. So far I have not gotten a CEL and everything is running good. It does make the exhaust louder but its only louder when the turbo is spooling. I did notice more torque in the lower rpms along with higher hp in the higher rpms. The turbo spools alot quicker i did not see how early i was making full boost but i will post that later on along with a picture for ya guys if the pic will go through. You can find em for ~150-200 bucks, if you have emisions dont worry about it, save your cat and put it on before emissions then put the test pipe back on later. Im in Florida so we don't have emissions.

nope no ko4 yet. I got the chip for it already, im doing that probablly the middle of summer.

Well i went out to the local hang - out Wal Mart and on the way there i got the infamous CEL, I don't have a VAG yet so ill probablly pick that up this week or the next. It is well known that you will get a CEL if you use a test pipe.

Here are a few pics.

No stock exhaust parts here. I have a techtonics tuning 2.5" downpipe, milltek cat back with the mid muffler removed and replaced with 2.5" mandrel bent piping. My dad has this recording thing maybe if it has a USB port i could get a sound clip, ill try by the end of this week or maybe tuesday.

test pipe eliminates the catalitic converter so you can run catless or put a cheaper aftermarket cat down after the downpipe. for me (King_D) i saw a hugh improvment in gas mileage like 2-3 more per gallon and the butt dyno gave it two thunmbs up and the spool of the turbo cam much faster and the exhaust sound was sick

The test pipe i installed is awsome turbo spools much earlier i make full boost in 2nd gear at ~ 2800k opposed to the stock cat at like ~3500 rpms. There are ways around the CEL and i am going to find a way to get rid of it this week or the next. There are three alternatives to get rid of the CEL that i found on AW. The Spark plug non fowler drilled out so the O2 sensor's head can fit through it and also so the O2 sensor can be threaded on. There is also ponyexpress MIL CEL eliminator which is spliced between the 02 sensor. Also a few people have removed the secondary O2 sensor and mounted it in the engine bay where fresh air would hit it and put a dummy plug in the test pipe. All three of these ways to get rid of the CEL work for MOST people. Im going to fix my spark plug non fowler and buy the ponyexpress MIL CEL eliminator and with these two combined it PROBABLLY won'y come on. Supposedly it may still throw a code but at least the CEL won't be on, glaring in your eyes.
