test pipes

I know i'm a newb, but i'm looking to upgrade to giac 007 dv and throw on a test pipe. the test pipe is there anyway of buying it cheaper then 250.00 dollars? besides making it yourself?
if you have better upgrade advice please let me know

one more question what is the difference between a down pipe and a test pipe? because they seem to do the same thing

A test pipe is a cat delete, and a down pipe is after that..

man I wish someone had one laying around i could use it as a templet and mass-produce them for the forum members< i built mine, custom test-pipe and down pipe cost me like maybe 20 bucks in parts..

Go to your local exhaust shop and ask them to make one, but not install it on the car, they CAN legally do it then, as long as it is not installed by them, then bring it home, jack the old hunk of machinery up, and slap on your new (probably about $30) mod. I know on the 1.8T's theres only one bend in it, so it'd be easy to make. (I wish I still worked at Midas, so I could make these all day long.... exhaust is easy if you've got the right tools)

yo you worked at midas? if i get two magnaflow universal mufflers will they be able to hang it for me? thanks.
