Throttle Response & recovery
Just picked up a '98 A4 2.8 5-spd. So far, I just love this car!! It has a few little bugs, which I can deal with (RR wheel bearing growling at me, exhaust hanger needs a quick weld).
The one thing I can't figure out is the throttle. It tends to float at the top. In between shifts, the RPM will remain high for 2-3 seconds before it starts to come down. So, if I've taken it up to 4,000 in first, I depress the clutch, shift to second, and the revs are still at 4,000! If I wait long enough, it comes down, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. Any ideas on why this is floating and on how to stop it? |
