Thumping noise when I hit a bump
 

For over a year now, my car has been making a thumping noise in the front end, when I hit a small bump. It's not an alarming noise. Just a little anoying. Any ideas?

sounds like a bad control arm. you do know there is recall on them right?

Yeah I am having the same problem.. it only does it when i first start the car up and hit a small bump.. its really weird.. so i took it in for the recall because i thought it might be a control arm. But they said that only a certain amount of them were recalled... Has to fall within a certain part number. So they also checked out the control arm and said it was fine. Any ideas on what else can make that noise?

the strut mount bushing is probably worn out, I had that problem with my volvo

i was unaware of the recall....on what models or years is the recall?
