After draining the antifreeze you can use Yellow , replaces any color, Global Extended Life Antifreeze.

check out the 12 valve forum on audiworld.com, you might find someone to loan you the cam lock tool and crank holder. Do NOT attempt this job with these tools.
here's the 12V development forum........and jest meant "do not attempt this job withOUT these tools"

or you could go to almost any VW dealership and get it done for half the price of an audi dealership.

Well my brother in-law runs a good shop. Knows his stuff. Just a matter if he wants to do it or not. I'm not even sure what is wrong with the car yet, has 203k miles on it 96.. Buddy says he has to hold the throttle to keep it idle. New ecu, TPS, etc.. He thinks it skipped a tooth on the timing belt. Dead battery so, can't start to hear or see

2nd owner so I'm unsure of when the last time it's been done. any ideas on the idling problem? it was running great, did that one day he hasn't drove it since. I'm trying to debate now if I want to tackle that job. Doing the actual timing seems to be easy with the tools to hold everything at tdc but getting there seems to be the hard part
