Timing Belt Service Interval

Hi Everyone,
My first time posting after buying an '04 1.8T A4 cab with 25K. I've been searching this site for information regarding the time belt service interval, but was more confused afterreading about tensionor types, etc.. I'm looking at the maintenance schedule in the manual and don't see any mention of the timing belt service.

What is the service interval for this car?

Are there any issues I should be aware of on this car?

Thanks,
Larry

RE: Timing Belt Service Interval

The interval is likely 90K or so. However, this is an interference engine, which means that if the belt slips your piston will hit the valves and you are looking at a 2500 dollar rebuild, so play it safe and replace the belt and tensioners at 80K.

audi says 120k, but DON'T listen to them..

between 60-80k is recomended.. you can make it to 100k but not worth the risk at all

You have the latest belt tensioner. Do it before 90K mi.
