I'm just a little confused about what exactly a Tip Chip is really? Does your chip only work when you have tip tronic engaged ? which companies make a good tip chip? I have a 2004 1.8t Tip

 

Is there any other companies that make a good tip chip besides giac?

 

no GIAC only does a4's 98-01

The tip-chip takes the 1 second delay between shifts and makes it .2 sec delay.

 

you can vag-com a setting to make it more efficient for free (i dont know anything about it though, you'd have to research it) Do you have a USP 1.8t tip? They have upgraded tip trannies as well.

just curious, did the forum decide inmotion was legit? i read a big, long thread debating back and forth. also, if it is, anyone have thoughts of adding their tip chip when i already have the giac performance chip? when the audi dealer installed my giac, they informed me it would alter the shift points of the trannny, but to knock time off the shift will rock.

 

I think people are growing on them. I am really anxious to see the dyno results that should be up tomorrow! That will kind of give it the "yes they are good" or the "No stay away from them." But so far people have been saying good things about them.
