so, the other day i was driving my A4 2.8 quattro and i was turning right and a guy who was turning left, nearly blindsided me although i had the right of way, and i punched the gas trying to get away from the car. once doing this i forgot i had it in tiptronic and i believed i over revved it or something and now the tiptronic is acting up. as i would assume to get this looked at or fixed it will cost quite a bit of money no? do you guys have any suggestions or something i could do? or maybe it has happened to you. let me know?

Maybe your having a tranny problem.
But you can not over rev a Tip tranny.
And what do you mean by it ' acting up'

 

well sometimes it wont even switch to tiptronic, and when it does ill try to shift up and it will go down ? i believe its the computer or something, because the automatic tran. is running fine.

 

Could it be possible it's a sensor inside the tranny. I don't know much about the tips but maybe it leads you in a direction.

 

Does the transmission work OK when not in tip mode?

Check for codes with a vagcom. IT could be that the shifter sensor is out of place or the switch is not functioning properly

 

yea that sounds about right.
Its not sensing its in manual shift mode.
Take it to a dealer. Thats your only option.
