How far how fast? does your car have quattro?

And honestly, getting somebody to tow your car is always risky as hell... and possibly illegal. Sometimes best left to a tow truck... just get a triple A membership or something, and use it. I think they have a 24 hour waiting period...

yeah it's a quattro

i only need it to go about 10 miles, that's why i was wondering if i could avoid a towing company. will it still **** up the quattro if i didn't turn it on? i know i would lose the luxury of power steering and power brakes, but would that work?

towing a quattro car will be more than 50 bucks... that is why I said get a AAA membership or some other roadside service.

think about what your saying... no power brakes or steering. What if you rear end your buddy towing you? it is totally not worth the risk... the only real risk to quattro is if you life two of the wheels off the ground, and leave two on the ground... it'll do damage for sure. Your idea is still bad though... get roadside coverage, for me its 60 bucks a year... and when I first signed up, I couldn't call them for 24 hours... 24 hours later, I called them to pick up my car. Was pretty obvious what I did, but they are in no position to call anybody a liar

I got a flat bed for 50 for a 24 mile tow. But the AAA is also a great deal. Better yet see if any of your friends have AAA, you can use theres also. kinda have to work that one thou
