Trade-in Value (what a joke...)
I couldn't help myself from posting my recent frustrations...
Last year I'd purchased a 1999 A4 2.8, at the time it had 48500 miles on it. Great condition all the way around (as it is still to this day). A year later and with close to 65000 miles on it, I've decided to 'upgrade' and go to the A6 2.7t, not new mind you I'd be very happy with a 2001 model. So I've looked at every dealership within 200 miles of where I live in addition to the Ebay thing. And this is what I've come up with....yeah there are some nice rides out there in my price range, but every F*$kin deal that will take a trade will only give me about $8500. Is it me or is this just another hose job that society likes to take us for a ride on?
My point: My A4 is in great shape and I feel it's a sin for a dealer (Audi) to come back at me with a number that is just down right insulting. I needed to vent a bit, now I will walk out in to the forest with a baseball bat and wack some trees.

trade ins are suppose to be way below the value becasue your cutting through the hassle of the time consuming process of finding a buyer, but i think thats stupid and they just want to rip u off
When I bought the car I think I paid about $16999, I might be off by a grand or so. I'd be satisfied if they'd have offered me $13500, but then again they are in the market to make big profits, not a just a few thousand dollars here or there.
Looks like I get to spend some time trying to auction it on Ebay...
