if you dont wanna rock the clear bra... you could use this stuff called liquid glass. if you use enough coats, protects pretty well from chips, and makes the paint look nice and deep

At the risk of getting flamed to DEATH.....I'll share my information.
I bought this: eBay Invisible Paint Protection
I figured I'd give it a try and see how it does.
I already have a tiny little pebble sized chip on the bumper below the left side of the grill.
Nothing to lose by trying to put something on to protect it.
The kit should be here Monday.
Since I'm a guinea pig, I'll post back my results with the kit and let everyone know whether or not to save the money.

Let me warn you, if that is vinyl adhesives, it will be very hard to take off, and will leave a ton of glue that you will spend hours getting off. It might last 5 yrs. but after that it will start looking bad, and probably start cracking. I remove vinyl graphics from cars all day and it is a PITA and removing a full sheet from your hood would be real bad. Just warning you, not flaming you.
My pops has StoneGuard on his 911 turbo and his m5 and it has saved him a whole bunch of money numerous times. Works great, and stays clear. No peeling/coloring.
Edit: And thats on both silver cars, so it would be easy to see the yellowish color change.
