Well here I am again, have a 98 a4q auto. Pulled a P1432 code, auxilary emission control I believe it said. Any ideas?

 

Do you have a vag-com or using the autozone method?

P 1432 Secondary air injection valve open

The ECM operates the secondary air injection pump and opens the vaccum valve to inject fresh air into the exhaust stream , lowering emission levels under certain operating conditions.

 

I'm not very mechanically inclined, my apologies, how should I go about taking care of this, more specically, what exactly am I trying to fix?

 

Find an independent mechanic.

 

Check the vacuum line running from the exhaust manifold making sure it isn't cracked or not attatched. May want to replace it.
