Hey there audi folk, I am new to the forum but a long time reader.

My whole family has Audi's I have my old S2, my brother has an S4, and my father drives an S8.
I recently got a A4 for my wife and she loves it. The problem is that she likes to drive fast, so when she gos out with the girls she allways wants to take my car. I promised I would work on getting her some more heat for her 1.8 if she stop driving my car.
Can anyone help me with some boost numbers? How much psi can the A4 run stock? Is 1 bar the most you can squeeze out reliably on stock internals and tiny turbo?

I appreciate all the input you can give on the wifey's 99 A4 1.8t .

Dude the stock internals are pretty damn solid, 1 bar is cake for it, guys run 25psi with a gt2871rs and have accidently boosted over 30 for periods of time, Id hook her up with a chip unless there is even more need hook her up with a GT2871rs kit and she will have some real fun

 

the 1.8T is made for boost the weak point is the connector rods i seen some k03s spike at 22-23 psi

 

Yeah I was thinking out to 1 bar maybe get rid of that hairdryer that is in there now for a fatter one.
I am just worried about reliability, she is not the best driver to begin with........I dont want to get the call that she externaly mounted her rods or worse.

 

Yeah she should be real happy with a chip.

 

lol I would love it if my girl was like that and a good driver, lol I would smile when I was all 4 wheels spinning, lol if you dont want to put the car in too much jeapordy id stick with a k04 setup its conciderably better than the k03 but not as extreme as something like a GT2871RS, either way she will be happy i think

 

That monster GT turbine i out of the question I dont want her having to much fun.
The K04 is for sure a good idea and even at 1 bar it will be more efficiant than the 03.
So you guys think 1 - 1.5 bar is adequate for the little miss?
Also while I am at it, I will probably upgrade her suspension, turbo pipe/exhaust. She deserves it.
