Contrary to belief, most states have "mandatory" court showings for officers who gave the ticket.
Simlpy showing up in court rarely ever gets you off the ticket.

But they may reduce the ticket to drop points and just make you pay the fine. That's what I am hoping to do. I was on a 2-point probation when I got popped for the next ticket. Now I am looking at 4 points, hoping they might drop it to 2. At least in MD, you really have to give a good excuse to postpone, like "I will be out of the country", or something. The troopers here do have scheduled court days, so unless they are sick, they show up.

No no it varies by state A LOT In oregon I got my 87 in a 55 that was $497, and then lake a month or so later I got a 95 in a 70 in washington and it was $120

I've gotten pulled over for 45 in a 35 and told the officer that I was late for an exam and was lost. He let me go. So for any youngsters out there or people who look young this one is a winner.

haha the saying your lost doesnt work to well when you are five minutes away from home. funny thing is, im taking criminal justice classes at school and i bring this up and start asking her questions hoping she'll give me a little more mercy but nothing. i cant really justify spending $200 plus on a lawyer for a $90 ticket. im more pissed that on wednesday it would of been exactly 3 years since my last ticket and my insurance was scheduled to go down haha oh well. ive heard various rumors about sending in a check for a dollar or so more than your ticket, they have to send you a refund check and as long as you dont cash it, it wont go on your insurance for some reason. my friend has done it a few times and never had his insurance messed with.
