Very Wierd Issue
Ok today I changed out my Radiator with an AGK oem one.
I started car & drove off. When I stopped... for about 20-minutes to talk to friends. I was almost in H (by 2 bars) I am in Chicago,Il and it's 20degress right now. (cold) I thought maybe I was low on Anti-Freeze. So i started driving again. Then, the flashing sign went away from ym dashboard. Mind you I didnt see any smoke or nothing.
I went to auto store topped it off.
I noticed something strange.... My radiator support HOLDS (2) FANS 1-Large fan & 1 smaller fan.
Only one fan was Active (turning/blowing) and it was the big one. The small one was not moving.
I was in parking lot for 30-40 minutes car was on & Light was still blinking. (for overheating) still same thing no smoke levels topped off.
Then... I got in car drove about 3 minutes, Sign went away.
So I decieded ok lets try this again. I drove home ( about a 20 minute drive ) plus I got gas add 10 minutes (30 minutes total) NO light present... no smoke.
I got home parked car and sat in car for 30 minutes. Light did not come on. no smoke.
Only thing that bothers me is Hoses from Anti-Freeze resovoir to Radiator (where hott) And it's 20 degrees outside. That worries me.. Any ideas?

did you bleed air from the system using the bleeder located in the front coolant hose and move the heater core hose to the bleed position as well to bleed the system of its air, what was the original reason for the radiator replacement, more information is needed here besides it is overheating, does your 12v still use the clutch type cooling fan? and is that one fan your speaking of turning. as far as hoses being hot from expansion tank to radiator that is completely normal no matter how cold it is outside that antifreeze will be at engine temputure, more info man, more info....

I dont know about all that, thats some high tech ****. I took radiator out then drained all fluids and reinstalled radiator connect all hoses & wires properly.
Yes.....
I have Manual Tranns.
But the Clutch fan is running its the fan next to it that does not move at all!.
Reason for changing out was radiator was bad LEAKING fluid. Once i changed it problem sold I crashed and cracked radiator so thats why.
And I did my water pump 2 months ago.

okay well the clutch fan is the fan that normally should be moving, the other fan is condensor fan, so is for AC operation, sounds like you have a little bit of cavitation occuring which is just air in the system, let your car warm up with no cap on expansion tank and work whatever out it hasnt yet. just be careful to not let it boil over cuz the radiator cap provides pressure to raise boiling point of coolant, so without the cap on coolant will boil over easily, just let it warm up and keep an eye on it, should work whatever little air is left in there out.
Wow,
Hey thanks alot for help dude. I thought it was something horrible. (unless they shipped me wrong or bad radiator)
Because this radiator is lighter then my 1st one & its thicker also. (but its OEM)

OK there are (2) Hoses ..... One on left side one on right side.
One hose clamps on UPPER RIGHT.
2nd Hose Clamps Lower LEft
Which One AM I unclamppin? (heater core?) Forgive me if on slow on certain areas.

whoa thats not some high tech ****, THAT is VERY important step, if you look on the left hose that goes into the heater core, you will notice a small hole on top of the hose where it goes into inlet, but on the inlet itself you will not see a hole, what u do is undo the hose clamp and pull hose back and you will see a hole, put the hose in that position, and then in the big hose that goes to expansion tank where it comes down to engine there will be a bleeder screw to expell air there, you need to do this to clear air out of the system, try running with expansion cap off first to see if you can get it out that way, but if not, you need to bleed out through those spots cause cavitation in the system will cause rapid overheating.

heater core is up by the firewall, its not located on engine, basically ok, the car has a split type firewall, so like behind where the expansion tank is on the 2nd firewall (like where battery sits) you will see 2 coolany hoses running into the inlet and outlet for the heater core, the one on the left you move.
