Vibration Problem...Updated
Alright everyone...just to remind you, I have a new 2007 A4 2.0T 6MT. Since I bought the car, its had a vibration at highway speedthat I didn't realize was a problem until I had ana3 loaner from the Audi dealer I took my car to for the 5000 mile service. I let the service guys know about the problem and this is what has happened since...
1. IT was found that the front tires were out of balance...so they were then balanced. No better
2. It was found that the two front tires had excessive road force on them. They were replaced and balanced at Audi's cost. The vibration is still there. In fact it was more noticealbe.
3. I then took the car to a European Auto garage just to see if they saw something Audi hasn't seen so far. We put the car on a lift and ran it at the speed I told them the vibaration starts to occur. Lets just say when I got to speed it felt like the car was going to come off the lift it was vibrating so bad. The mechanic noticed that the two front tires, which were just replaced and balanced by audi were out of balance again. He also inspected the rims and came to the conclusion that they are not bent, so that's not the problem. I had them re-balance the tires and we ran them again on the lift at the same speed. Still vibrated....
I've let Audi of America know of my problem and have requested a regional service rep come look at the car when I bring it back to Audi for the third service from them.
Since it seems like the tires are not the problem here...does anyone have any ideas what it could be? I spoke with a guy today who said that the front end could be mis-aligned...which means that audi will have to replace the car.
Also, this is my third appt for the same problem at Audi...if they cant' fix it after this next visit they will be hearing about the Lemon Laws and replacing my car with a brand new one.....
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
